Resource Inventory

The Plan will result in a GIS-based outdoor recreation resource inventory and associated maps. The inventory will include, but not be limited to:

  • The outdoor recreation environment (such as ecoregions, major rivers and lakes, and wildlife areas) and the wetland priority component;

  • Public lands and associated facilities available for outdoor recreation and conservation; 

  • Recreational trails, historic trails, wild and scenic river areas, recreational river areas, etc.; and

  • High-risk outdoor recreation areas as identified in New Mexico’s Forest Action Plan.

The 2021-2026 Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) is in accordance with the Land and Water Conservation Fund State Assistance Program Federal Financial Assistance Manual Volume 69 and the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965.
